While searching the Internet the other day, I came across a disgusting term known as “duck butter”. According to the urban dictionary, duck butter accumulates in the scrotum area as a result of not cleaning the area for several days, or even weeks. The result is a greasy buildup of some of the smelliest stuff in the world. After reading this, I decided to delve into these new “urban words” and see if there were any other meanings for the term “duck butter.” Much to my surprise, I discovered that there’s actually a product with the same words, as well as other (more useful) uses of the terms, duck butter.
Duck Butter (The Product)
Duck butter pipe joint lubricant is apparently used by plumbers to ease the fitting of pipes into joints with rubber, synthetic rubber, of plastic gaskets. Contrary to its urban definition, duck butter has a very mild odor, is tan in color, and is very beneficial in lubricating pipe, and pipe gaskets during the assembly process. To use duck butter, simply clean the applicable pipe and gaskets thoroughly, place a thin layer of duck butter over the respective pieces, and don’t over-apply the product. Your fittings should go together nicely after using the product without much effort.
Butter Shaped In The Form Of A Duck
In addition to the product, oftentimes, people are referring to “duck butter” as a glob of butter shaped in the form of an actual duck. These buttery sculptures are usually made to decorate a formal dinner setting to entertain the wealthy. The sculptures are meant to be eaten, so if you come across this form of “duck butter,” don’t hesitate to use your butter knife, poke it into the duck, and spread butter over the tasty bread that’s most likely being provided by your hosts.
Duck Butter Dip
In my search for the truth, I also came across a recipe at AllRecipes.com that was titled “duck butter” dip. This is a simple concoction of 8 ounces (room temperature) cream cheese, 3 ounces of room temperature cream cheese, 3 cloves of finely chopped garlic, 1/4 cup of minced onion, 4 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, an 1/8th of a teaspoon of Tabasco sauce, and 1 teaspoon of salt. All you do is mix these ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to be consumed. Overall, this recipe garnered four out of five stars Making it a favorite allrecipes.com.
While the term duck butter is indeed a new “urban” word, people should understand that it has other meanings as well. Be careful not to confuse their specific meaning during conversation. Make sure you know what context your in prior to engaging in what may become embarrassing conversation.
