Hanna (a Category 1 hurricane) has its sites set on the Texas coastline, just south of Corpus Christi. Hanna currently has sustained winds of over 80 mph and has already caused power outages to over 7,000 homes in Nueces county with many more outages being reported by the minute in Corpus Christi. The eye of the hurricane appears to be tracking just south of Kingsville and is expected to produce up to 10 inches of rain causing wide-spread flooding throughout the region. In addition, a storm surge warning will go into effect at 4 P.M. today. No reported evacuation orders are in effect; however, we will update our post should we hear of any. Buckle up Texas, it’s hurricane season and it’s shaping up to be a nasty one!
