P-EBT FEBRUARY 2023 Emergency allotments were authorized by the USDA to help families across America with extra food assistance and buying power during the pandemic. State SNAP agencies issued EA SNAP food payments to SNAP households. Extra food stamp payments will soon come to an end. Through January and February 2023, the following states were approved and extended emergency SNAP allowances. Benefit payment deposit dates per state are listed below.  

Extra SNAP benefits for January and February 2023 (food stamp allotments) were extended and approved in 29 states. The EA benefits issuance date per state is listed in the chart below. The USDA granted waivers in the below states for the issuance of supplemental emergency SNAP.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has a special program called the COVID-19 Emergency Allotments (EA). This program helps households that receive SNAP benefits pay for their food needs during a public health emergency.

The government will give each household at least $95 each month and households that already get more than $95 will not get less than that. To get the extra money, states must meet certain conditions and they must report the extra money they give out separately from regular SNAP benefits. The money will end if the public health emergency ends.

Will extra PEBT 2023 SNAP benefits extend through March 2023?

States that have lost or are losing their emergency or disaster declaration can get one extra month of help with food benefits. For example, if a state’s declaration ends in February, they can get help for March. But without a renewed declaration, they can’t get help for April.

The states were granted waivers due to a public health emergency declaration by the Health and Human Services due to an outbreak of Covid-19. Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program is designed to help millions with nutritional needs. Emergency allotments for extra Covid 19 pandemic set to expire March 2023.

Congress passed legislation establishing February of 2023 as the last month people can receive emergency SNAP. According to the Texas governor, this change cannot be appealed.

1.) Alabama extra food stamps January 2023 and February 2023 issue date

Alabama will issue extra SNAP benefits for January 2023 on January 31, 2023. February 2023 issue dates will be announced soon.

2.) California EA CALIFRESH benefits February 2023 issue date

The USDA approved the emergency allotment EA in California.

This allows for the extra food stamp SNAP benefits for the month of February 2023. The benefits are in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and are designed to help households with food insecurity. The EA will provide a one-time supplemental allotment of 15% of their regular SNAP benefit amount. It is important to note that the EA is available to all Californians receiving food assistance, no matter their income level.

California will issue the extra SNAP food stamp benefits for February 2023 on these dates: February 4, 2023 for CalSAWS and February 11, 2023 for CalWIN.

Extra food stamp benefits will last as long as the state submits the application to the USDA indicating the following:

1. Residents are confirmed to have COVID-19

2. Some areas if not all in your state are quarantine zones

3. Restaurants and other businesses have closed or reduced their open hours significantly

4. State experiences financial and economic impact to to job losses

When the increase in COVID-19 Pandemic extra SNAP food stamp benefits will actually end in 2023
