Cowboys on Pace for record setting season

25 year old Malik Turner Activated

Cowboys on pace for record setting season. Injuries continue to plague the Cowboys as they head into Week 4 play against the Carolina Panthers. Dorance Armstrong and Carlos Watkins are both still on the injured list and won’t be playing against the Carolina Panthers. There haven’t been many changes to the injured/reserve list or the COVID-19 protocol list. However, there is one significant announcement for the Dallas Cowboys. 25 year old Malik Turner has been activated for play from the reserve/injury list.

Austin Faoliu and Justin Hamilton have been moved from the practice squad to the mainstream team. The pair will be needed to add depth to the Cowboys roster. Nick Ralston and Jeremy Sprinkle will also earn playing time while the first string players are out due to the COVID-19 Protocol.

The Cowboys have struggled with injuries and illness since the season opened. Randy Gregory still has an injured knee, but he will likely see playing time this week. Earlier in the week, he was reportedly joking about needing WD-40 for his knee. Donovan Wilson is another player on the injured list. He has a groin injury that will keep him sidelined.

Dak Prescott second place in Cowboy history

Dak Prescott’s passing arm is in fine form. He will have to be on target and reading the defense to keep the Cowboys ahead of Carolina during the Week 4 matchup. Prescott has had one comeback win this season, and it has moved him into second place in Cowboys history over Troy Aikman for the number of come from behind in the fourth quarter wins. Cowboys ARE on pace for record setting season.

Trevon Diggs will be on the field against Carolina trying to pick off another interception. If he pulls off another interception, he will be the 16th defender to snag an interception during each of the first four games of a season in NFL History. If he picks off another pass, he will tie the franchise record with Charlie Waters, Dennis Thurman, and Michael Downs. Diggs has also been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month.

Amari Cooper has racked up 2,229 yards on the home field during the last four seasons. He is currently ranked second for the Cowboys in receiving yards. He has tallied 189 yards in 2021.  He has caught the ball 19 times since the season opened.

Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb has five receptions in the first three games of this season. He is tied for second in the league. Carolina’s D. J. Moore is ahead of Lamb by one. He has made six big plays this season.

Cowboys and Carolina likely shootout in AT&T stadium

The matchup against Carolina will likely be a shootout in AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys defense has been picking up the pace in practice, and their efforts are showing up at game time. The Panthers are undefeated in 2021. They have only allowed ten points per game by their opponents. Again, Cowboys on pace for record setting season.

The Cowboys offense will have to work extra hard to put points on the board against the brutal Carolina defense. Prescott’s air game will be tried more than in past weeks because he will likely have to go over the Carolina defense to make plays happen. The combination of Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott has been wildly successful for the Cowboys. They will put the Carolina defense to the test as they attack on offense.

Between the air and ground game, the Cowboys’ offense will test the Panthers defense when they meet up for the Week 4 game on Sunday.  Here is a list of inactive PANTHERS.
