New Braunfels Smokehouse Closes after 75 Years. New Braunfels Smokehouse was a staple in the Lone Star State. While many advocate for lockdowns and restaurant shut downs during the pandemic due to COVID-19, it is devastating to witness.

Not only is it devastating to the community tax wise, but a loss to the patrons who had a wonderful place to eat for the last 75 years. Lest we forget the employees who may lose their jobs.

I for one cannot stand to see one more TEXAS ICON close its doors or leave the LONE STAR STATE.
